Description
I got bored and made this...I think it's kinda cute.
I also thought I would post the process, for anyone interested in making stuff like this, too!
Materials used:
Sculpy brand crafting clay
Faux pearl beads
Copper-coated jewelery kit ~ (includes chains, mini/medium sized rings, ring-ended pins, and heart-and-bar clasps)
Pliers (2)
Process:
Knead the sculpy to get it soft...make sure your hands are clean! You can also use crafting tools, if you like. And don't be afraid to mix colors!
Once you have finished crafting your clay figures, preheat any conventional oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
Gently insert the ring-ended pin into the clay (if you plan on hanging it from a chain!)
Place your clay in an oven-safe pan and set the timer for approx. 10-15 minutes (it varies based on how hard you want the finished product to be)
After removing 10-15 minutes later, and letting the clay cool, you can begin to assemble the figures to the chain (use the pliers to secure a mini ring around the ring-ended pin and part of the jewelry chain)
Add pearls along the pin, if desired.
Viola! Finished.
I have been working with sculpy for years...so if you don't get the desired effect at first, just try again! It might take some practice.
